Low-Erucic acid Rapeseed Oil

Low-Erucic acid Rapeseed Oil

Rapeseed oil (Brassica napus L.), commonly known as colza oil, is also called coriander oil or canola oil. It is an edible oil extracted from rapeseed. Rapeseed oil is one of the main edible oils in China and is also the third largest type of vegetable oil in the world. In China, rapeseed oil is mainly produced in the Yangtze River Basin, the Southwest region, the Northwest region and other places, and it ranks first in the world in terms of output.
In traditional rapeseed, the erucic acid content is relatively high. Long-term consumption of rapeseed oil with a high erucic acid content may lead to the excessive accumulation of erucic acid, which can easily cause the thickening of the blood vessel walls and the deposition of myocardial fat, and is not beneficial to human health. Low-erucic-acid rapeseed oil refers to rapeseed oil where the erucic acid content does not exceed 3% of the total fatty acid composition. It is a light yellow to orange-yellow oily liquid obtained by pressing low-erucic-acid rapeseed.
