Pomegranate Seed Oil

Pomegranate seed oil（Punica granatum L.）is a product obtained by processing the seeds of pomegranate fruits. Pomegranate is one of the oldest known edible fruits. It originated in the Himalayas and the Mediterranean region and is mainly cultivated in tropical and subtropical countries and regions, such as India, Iran, China and the United States.
Pomegranate seed oil is the main source of punicic acid, and the content of punicic acid in it is between 70% and 80%. Punicic acid is an octadecatrienoic acid. Its structure is close to conjugated linoleic acid, and it is also known as the "super conjugated linoleic acid". As a unique Omega-5 polyunsaturated fatty acid, punicic acid has more functional properties than linoleic acid in the general sense. Punicic acid is primarily sourced in two ways: first, it occurs naturally in some plant seed oils; second, it can be synthesized. Pomegranate seed oil is widely used in nutritional supplementation and skincare, thanks to its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and skin health-promoting properties.
