Sunflowerseed oil is a high-quality vegetable oil extracted from the seeds of the sunflower plant (Helianthus annuus L.). Native to North America, sunflowers were later introduced to Europe, Asia, and other regions, and have since become one of the world's most important oilseed crops. Major producers of sunflowerseed oil include China, Russia, Ukraine, and other countries.  
Sunflowerseed oil is rich in linoleic acid, an omega-6 polyunsaturated fatty acid, which accounts for 50-70% of its composition and is a key contributor to its health benefits. Additionally, sunflowerseed oil contains antioxidants such as vitamin E and phytosterols, which help support cardiovascular health and skin barrier function. Due to its moderate thermal stability and mild flavor, sunflowerseed oil is widely used in daily cooking, salad dressings, and industrial food processing. It is also a common ingredient in skincare products and pharmaceutical excipients.
